Last week many senior members of our teams gathered at\u00a0Metstrade<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the largest international leisure marine industry trade show in the world. Known as Mets for short, it features manufacturers for every boating need as well as boat builders and electronics. All in all, there were 1,600 exhibitors at this year\u2019s show.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Balance was fully represented with Phil Berman, Patrick Roscoe, Mark Delany, Peter Dean, Roger Paarman, and Sean Van Rensburg from Du Toit Yacht Design. Partners Craig Hulbert, Chris James and Ian MacRobert from Sparcraft Masts were also on hand along with Tony Strutt and Dallen Roos from Ullman sails.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Balance was also a finalist for the IBI Innovative On-Board Design Solution Award for our VersaHelm\u2122. That was quite an honor given the incredible sweep of entries including super yachts. It was good to be able to tell the story of the VersaHelm\u2019s invention to the crowd and explain how it allows our catamarans to be piloted up top, in the open air, or down below in the cockpit to protect you from foul weather by offering four-corner visibility, making sailing easier, safer, and considerably more pleasant.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n
